… but it exists. Sometimes the distance causes us to question its existence. The seemingly difficulties of reaching it makes us give up and accept that what we have and where we are is all that there is, all that exist, all that we can acquire, but heaven is real. Why is heaven important? Why must we long to go there, we can’t we just accept and settle for where we are now? ‘Heaven’ in this write up is not a physical destination but rather a internal state of deep peace, fulfilment and contentment, irrespective of our external circumstances. With this definition heaven is much closer for dsome people than others depending on where we all each find ourselves in the journey of life.John Milton rightly said and I quote “The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven..” so I am referring to the heaven of the mind. Sometimes in our mind, it is pure hell, full of bitterness, choas, confusion, frustration, agitation, depression, name it all kind of evil and disturbance is going on, usually very reflective of our external circumstances and we conclude that this is all there is. Hell is where we are, hell is all that is happening, it is al we can have and we embrace and settle for this unpleasant destination. But I believe there is a different and better narative, there is another destination, heaven exists irrespectiveof the circumstances we ourselves in, but we must want it, we must be prepared to pay the price, to make journey. We must be prepared to go deep, to reach the bedrock, we must dive all the way down, shutting our eyes and ears to the noise and distractions. Like a deep sea diver we must have that focus to reach the bottom of the ocean where the true treasure lies. When we get to heaven, nothing can move us, nothing can disturb us. We ar at ‘the right hand of the father’, we are in peace, storms of life come, but we are unperturbed. The journey to heaven is s purposeful and determined one, it does not usually happen unplanned, waking up one morning and just find ourselves in that place of deep peace. It rarely walks in unsolicited. We do not land in space unplanned, the waves dp not takes alive and back to the bottom of ocean. We train to be a diver. We train to go to heaven. We train our mind, we rid ourselves of negative thoughts, behaviour and habits. We quieten our minds, we forgive, we do away with bitterness and we dig deep. We stay on the mountain and we focus the mind away from distraction and noise and right within our being, from our core the light breaks forth and illuminate us, and we understand that the salvation we seek is right within us. We must tame the mind to make it heaven.Heaven is possible, not matter how far, we can get there, let’s go!
